20 promising tech startups take center stage at the Startup Champions Seed Night 2021

04.05.2021 16:50, Isabelle Mitchell

The 10th Startup Champions Seed Night showcased promising startups in a virtual pitch competition: More than 500 guests joined the live stream and watched 20 startups present their innovations. Margaux Peltier, co-founder and CEO of Enerdrape, won the jury vote for the best pitch of the evening.

On April 29, twenty startups met on a virtual stage for the 10th edition of the Startup Champions Seed Night. The future stars of the Swiss startup ecosystem showcased their innovative solutions during a 90-minute pitch competition: The entrepreneurs had to impress the virtual audience and attract as many votes from the public as possible. After four rounds of five pitches, Thibault Asselborn (School Rebound), Patrick Biro (Inergio), Maël Fabien (Soundmap), and Margaux Peltier (Enerdrape) reached the finals.

Besides the pitches, two EPFL alumni inspired the audience with their entrepreneurial journey: The first keynote speech of the event came from Kamila Makram, co-founder and CEO of Frontiers, a leading research publisher and open science platform. Kamila shared Frontier’s story and the company’s mission to make our lives and the planet healthier by making all science open. Alexandre Gonthier, the founder and CEO of Trustly, was the second keynote speaker: He dedicated his career to technology startups and shared his experience as a serial founder, executive, and investor.

During the keynote speeches, the jury deliberated and chose the winner: Margaux Peltier, the co-founder and CEO of Enerdrape, had the best pitch of the Champions Seed Night 2021! Enerdrape unlocks the clean energy supply that lies underneath our cities: The startup develops panel-like cleantech that turns new and existing underground infrastructures into renewable heat sources for the heating and cooling needs of buildings.
