Adaptricity is an official spin-off of ETH Zürich that specializes in developing highly innovative simulation software for electricity grids. As renewable energies and intelligent algorithms are steadily growing in importance, smart grid technology and big data analysis methods are crucial requirements for modern energy supply systems.
Adaptricity enables grid operators to have different improvement opportunities evaluated before investing in costly infrastructure. The following benefits are provided by Adaptricity software:
• PV-Ausbau: Simulation and evaluation of the effects of decentral power generation on distribution networks, and planning of SmartGrid-technologies for problem resolution
• E-Mobility: Simulation of consumer behaviour concerning electric vehicle charging and evaluation of expansion scenarios.
• Network-Monitoring with SmartMeter-data: Precise analysis of network load based on SmartMeter-data, and network measurements of statically generated load profiles
• Asset-Management: Estimations of aging and longevity of network through accurate load analysis
Since Adaptricity’s foundation in March 2014 the three-person startup has grown to an attractive firm counting 19 employees. Adaptricity has become well-established in the German-speaking electricity market encompassing Switzerland, Germany and Austria with well-known players such as EKZ and Alpiq being part of their customer base.
Due to the takeover of stock majority through LEONI in February 2017 (https://www.adaptricity.com/newsflash/newsflash2.html) a new level of opportunity has been reached as this strategic collaboration helps Adaptricity to grow further and sustainably shape tomorrow’s electricity grids.
