Develop a blood test for detection of cancer (such as lung, colon, prostate, leukemia) based on BARD1.
Different aberrant forms of the protein BARD1 (normally a tumor suppressor) are expressed by cancers. They are biomarkers of cancer and correlated with cancer progression. Thus their detection in the blood can be developed towards a screening and diagnostic test.
