CARU Raises Investment for Hiring and 2019 Marketing Push

20.02.2019 00:00, Joseph Heaven

CARU AG, which makes sensors to monitor the climate of rooms, raised an undisclosed amount from new and existing investors. The investment will be used for marketing and to hire technical staff.

CARU, which ranked at the TOP 100 Swiss Startups Award last year, makes devices that monitor the air-quality and temperature of rooms, can warn users about anomalies, and suggest improvements to make rooms healthier. The sensors are voice activated and may be used in an emergency to connect a user with carers or medical services.

CARU started trials with the Tertianum carehome unit of Switzerland's largest listed real-estate company, Swiss Prime Site AG, last year. "Thanks to partnerships with reknowned players like Swiss Prime Site we've been able to test our product's market-readiness early on, and constantly adjust to market needs," co-chief executive Susanne Dröscher said in an email.
