Chiweto offers three digital solutions, namely the SMS platform, livestock insurances and Body Condition Scoring (BCS) applications. Chiweto is focusing on developing and scaling up the insurance and SMS platform services. The insurance service has health and life insurance policy categories and it is ready for its first field testing. The SMS platform is a service for sourcing and delivering information such as advisory and agricultural extension service via SMS and the prototype is undergoing rigorous testing. So far, it has received direct feedback from over 1,000 smallholder farmers and six institutions who make up the two main customer categories.
