Cycle Tracker Ava Closes $30M Series B Funding Round

Medtech startup Ava closed its Series B funding round this week with $30 million of financing, drawn from existing investors as well as European venture capital firms btov and SVC. The news comes on top of announcements of the 10,000th Ava pregnancy and, recently, the first Swiss Ava baby.

Ava’s pioneering sensor bracelet tracks women’s cycles and physical symptoms in order to support conception and reproductive health – but with the new funding, its product family is set to grow. Co-founder Pascal König said the company would be investing in developing new applications “to accompany women through all stages of their reproductive life” and address a range of needs, from contraception to support in the menopause.

Since its infancy, Ava has grown and thrived in the Venturelab ecosystem – winning first Venture Kick, travelling to the US and to China as a Venture Leader and gaining recognition as the 2017 TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award winner. This support, says König, was very valuable in helping the company succeed as fast as it did.
