Daedalean raises CHF 53 million to advance its autonomous piloting systems for aircraft

Daedalean has closed a finance round of CHF 53 million (USD 58 million) by a consortium of investors that includes Carthona Capital, Amino Capital, Redalpine Venture Partners, and Honeywell Ventures. Daedalean was a TOP 100 Startup in 2018. 

Daedalean is developing the next generation of AI-based systems for application in safety-critical flight control for new eVTOL and existing aircraft. The raised capital provides the company with the runway to bring its machine-learning-based visual guidance, navigation, and control suite to market over the next four years.

Daedalean was founded by Dr. Luuk van Dijk (CEO and CTO) and co-founder Anna Chernova (CPO-Product). The Zurich-based company builds autonomous piloting software systems for civil aircraft of today and advanced aerial mobility of tomorrow. Daedalean includes a team of more than 50 people with expertise in systems design, machine learning and computer vision, aviation-grade software engineering, flight testing, and safety assessment and certification.
