Daphne Technology secures CHF 15M to advance methane abatement deployment

21.04.2026 09:49, Rita Longobardi

Switzerland-based Daphne Technology has secured CHF 15 million in the first close of its current funding round to scale the commercialization of its methane abatement system. The company focuses on reducing methane slip emissions from natural gas engine exhaust, a persistent challenge in the energy sector.

Methane slip, unburned methane in lean-burn natural gas engine exhaust, accounts for a major share of emissions from compressor engines and has remained largely unaddressed by conventional aftertreatment systems. The company, ranked among the Top100 Swiss Startups, and a former Venture Kick winner alum as well as participant in Venture Leaders China, is now facing accelerating regulatory demand from frameworks such as the U.S. Clean Air Act Section 136 and the European Union Emissions Trading System.

The CHF 15 million will be used to establish U.S. manufacturing capacity, advance product development, and expand field deployment and technical service capabilities. Daphne Technology’s SlipPure™ system uses a plasma-catalytic process to reduce methane emissions by up to 90%, alongside significant reductions in other pollutants, without engine modification. A field demonstration is currently underway in the United States, with further operator interest emerging across energy infrastructure fleets.

Headquartered in Ecublens, the company is preparing to scale its U.S. operations in engineering, field deployment, and commercial activities.
