Health tech is perhaps the sector with the most obvious potential to change our daily lives. Whether the idea is as simple as an online booking service for doctors’ visits, or as futuristic as actually preventing injuries through a wearable sensor, it’s easy to see the impact.
Both of these – plus artificial intelligence for eye examinations, a whole array of bio trackers, and more – were introduced to interested corporates at the Scaleup Bootcamp in Bern last month. The Bootcamp is an initiative of digitalswitzerland, powered by Venture Kick, which aims to match promising startups with corporations looking for new opportunities.ASI (Advanced Sports Instruments) develops smart activity trackers to suit a wide range of sports where the usual smartphone or smartwatch solutions aren’t suitable.
GreenTEG’s unique compact sensor gSKIN accurately and continuously measures core body temperature, with applications ranging from animal monitoring or improving sports performance to early diagnostics.
Meanwhile Kenzen combines monitoring with cloud machine learning to analyse biomarkers (in the form of sweat and vital signs), predict and prevent avoidable injuries and health conditions.
Online Doctor offers a discreet, convenient and inexpensive service to patients worried about skin problems. Diagnosis and treatment recommendations are provided by experienced dermatologists, but all the patient needs is a smartphone – no time-consuming surgery visits.
Denteo offers web-based practice management software for the dental industry, streamlining administration and cutting costs.
DocsVisit facilitates that valued service, a doctor’s house visit, through a convenient online and telephone-based system. The platform delivers convenience to the patient and flexibility to the doctor, while substantially reducing administration costs.
Retinai applies artificial intelligence to eye examinations, with the goal of shifting ophthalmological healthcare from a reactive to preventive model.
