Dotphoton release first app ahead of VLeaders Tech trip to Silicon Valley!

13.02.2018 00:00, Linda Seward

Congratulations to Dotphoton, who have recently released their image compression app. You may recognise CEO Eugenia Balysheva as one of our Venture Leaders, heading to Silicon Valley next month, or the whole team from when they passed Venture Kick stage 2 in January.

When the iPhone began using RAW files to store photos, this represented a step forward in the quality of images produced by smartphones.  However, with file sizes of up to 25MB, the new improved images created a headache for phone storage. By releasing an app with a powerful algorithm within, Dotphoton makes RAW images that are up to 10 times smaller while preserving image quality.

Next up for the startup is developing and releasing software to compress pre-exisiting images and software for use on desktop computers.

Dotphoton founder Eugenia Balysheva will be travelling to San Francisco in March as part of Venture Leaders Technology. You can meet her and her teammates at Startup Champions at ETH Zurich on 28th Feb, or follow the event and the trip on social media using the hashtags #SUChamps and #VleadersTech
