Our Technology Venture Leader was recognized by the business consulting firm Frost & Sullivan with the 2018 European Technology Innovation Award for its leading motion planning software. The same day, the startup was ranked in the 2018 TOP 100 Swiss Startups. Starting September on a strong note, Embotech continues its growth after signing a first series contract with market leader in wind turbines in August.
Founded in 2013, the ETH spin-off develops a software called “FORCES Pro” based on physics models that require less computing power to activate autonomous driving mode than traditional AI or machine learning systems. With a wide range of applications in the automotive industry, it can process new situations involving obstacles of all sizes, shapes and positions, making it ideal for complex and unpredictable environments such as congested roads or urban spaces.
This technology caught the eye of Frost & Sullivan, which every year presents its award to a company developing a product with innovative features and a functionality gaining rapid acceptance in the market. It also recognizes the quality of the solution and the customer value enhancements it enables. This recognition confirms
embotech as a leading developer of embedded automatic decision-making software systems.
In August, the startup signed its first series contract with European wind turbine manufacturer ECU. Its optimisation software will be implemented on ECU’s embedded wind turbines, with the objective to optimise in real time the pitch of the blades. This adaptation will allow for longer run times under different wind conditions and for less maintenance.
Embotech was ranked #79 in the new TOP 100 Swiss Startup list last week. Back in 2016, the startup travelled to Silicon Valley with the
Venture Leaders Technology program in order to expose its revolutionary software to international investors. "Venturelab is an excellent platform giving start-ups worldwide exposure and bringing them together with investors." explained Stephanie Schliffski, embotech VP Business Development.
