Four years after co-founding the augmented reality platform, Dominik Trost is preparing for extremely fast growth into China's industrial sector, from the Swiss startup's office in Chongqing.
What is holo|one?
We're a team of 18 experts from different fields, who've developed the first standardized AR platform that encompasses the most common use-cases for businesses. Sphere, our easy-to-integrate AR platform, offers enterprise customers the productivity gains of the latest AR technology, with the simplicity of standardized modules. We live-stream videos globally, integrate company ERP and information systems, and also record video from AR glasses.
What is your potential to scale in China?
China and the U.S. will be the world's biggest AR markets. In an emerging industry like ours, it's vital to be present locally early on. We opened an office in Chongqing last year, after winning the Sino-Swiss Business Incubator Competition, and immediately experienced the fast pace of Chinese business culture. The rapid adoption of new technology in China is a huge chance for us!
What do you hope to achieve from the trip? What are your expectations and goals?
We aim to close our Series A round of about $9 million in October, so I hope to to find new partners and distributors locally. I'm looking forward to engaging with tech- and AR-enthusiasts in China too. Venture Leaders China will be central for us to make these connections. On professional, cultural and personal levels it's great to be able to exchange with the other great entrepreneurs and founders among the Venture Leaders too.
