Venturelab's Ask the Expert program is a workshop series where startup entrepreneurs learn from field experts on a wide range of important topics and engage with successful founders. The IPO Readiness Workshop presented crucial guidance on navigating the process of pursuing an Initial Private Offering.
The workshop brought together growth-stage startups that are considering an Initial Private Offering (IPO) and allowed them to learn more about the prerequisites and pitfalls of the process while connecting with experienced advisors from Deloitte, SIX Swiss Exchange, and Walder Wyss.
Viktoriya Lombardo and Karina Chavez, Capital Markets Advisory Directors at Deloitte, Sarah Suter and Fabian Gerber, Analyst and Senior Relationship Manager at SIX Swiss Exchange, and Nico Bernhard, Managing Associate at Walder Wyss, covered the basic considerations of an IPO and provided first-hand practical insights on what really matters when planning to go public and shared case studies of companies that successfully went public. They also shared recommendations about what should be avoided during the preparation phase, offering the startup entrepreneurs a clear picture of how to best embark on the IPO journey.
The participating startups enjoyed a lively networking session and the workshop, which empowered and inspired them to better understand the opportunities that may arise from the challenges they might face while considering going public.
Stefan Steiner, Managing Director of Venturelab, said of the event: "I am convinced that we will see a greater number of IPOs of Swiss startups in the near future. The SIX Swiss Exchange offers an ideal opportunity for startups with the new Sparks segment resource."
