LEDCity secures CHF 2 Million in Funding to push global expansion and energy-saving vision

The leading innovator in intelligent lighting solutions LEDCity has announced a significant achievement with the successful raising of CHF 2 million in additional funding. The capital will fuel the advancement of product development and expedite the company's international growth endeavours. With a clear vision of offsetting the energy output of a nuclear power plant through energy-efficient solutions, the scale-up takes a decisive stride towards realizing its ambitious goal.

Zurich-based LEDCity has developed a plug-and-play lighting system that cuts energy usage by up to 80% compared to traditional LED systems with motion detectors. It's easy to install, integrating smart algorithms and sensors for autonomous and dynamic light control, ensuring precise illumination on demand.

LEDCity aids European real estate portfolios in meeting ESG guidelines, earning them the Green Business Award. Despite startup challenges, the scale-up secured CHF 5 million in funding over 12 months, including CHF 2.6 million in growth capital from Credit Suisse and the Technology Fund. They plan to raise an additional CHF 2 million in equity to meet growing demand and further their mission of reducing fossil fuel dependency through innovative lighting. Collaborating with industry partners, LEDCity aims to integrate its technology into various luminaire designs, expanding its market reach. The company has already achieved milestones, saving electricity equivalent to 22,000 households and expanding into Spain and Germany, with a team of 45 converting over 150,000 inefficient lights to energy-saving ones.

LEDCity was ranked among the TOP 100 Swiss Startups in 2022 and participated in Venture Leaders Deeptech in 2021. "Venture Leaders Deeptech was for us a one-time chance to network with high-quality investors and startups," commented Patrik Deuss.
