Medyria secures CHF 3.5 million to advance US expansion

27.07.2026 Rita Longobardi

Swiss medtech startup Medyria has raised CHF 3.5 million to support FDA clearance and the commercial launch of its PyCath device in the United States, accelerating its mission to improve invasive coronary diagnostics.

Founded in 2012 and based at Technopark Winterthur, Medyria develops blood-flow velocity sensors and catheter technologies for coronary diagnosis. A Venture Kick, Venture Leaders, and Top100 Swiss Startup alumnus, the company's flagship product, PyCath, is a sensor-equipped microcatheter that measures blood flow velocity during interventional cardiology procedures.

The CHF 3.5 million financing follows a CHF 1.5 million round completed a year ago. The new capital will fund Medyria's regulatory pathway with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) while supporting the operational and commercial preparations for PyCath's initial launch in the U.S. market.
