ONWARD Medical, a medical technology company developing innovative therapies for people with spinal cord injury (SCI), is now listed on Euronext Brussels and Euronext Amsterdam. ONWARD was a Venture Kick winner and a Venture Leader in 2014 and was one of the TOP 100 Swiss Startups from 2015 to 2020.
Founded by Prof G. Courtine (EPFL), Dr. Jocelyne Bloch (CHUV), Dr. Joachim von Zitzewitz (VP therapy development), and Vincent Delattre (VP Business Development), ONWARD has developed an innovative technology platform based on ONWARD ARC Therapy, targeted programmed electrical stimulation of the spinal cord to restore movement, independence, and health in people with spinal cord injury.
ONWARD’s market capitalization was EUR 380 million on the day of listing, and the offering raised EUR 75.2 million altogether. “This successful IPO is an exciting moment for ONWARD and the many underserved people recovering from spinal cord injury,” said Dave Marver, CEO of ONWARD, who rang the ceremonial bell to celebrate the IPO. “Our team has worked closely with the world’s leading scientists and clinicians to identify and demonstrate the promise of several important breakthrough therapies.
