STIMIT acquired by Hamilton Medical

23.02.2026 18:01, Rita Longobardi

The Swiss medtech startup STIMIT, a Venture Kick winner and Venture Leaders participant, has been acquired by Hamilton Medical, marking a strategic step for both companies in advancing critical care technology. The integration of STIMIT into the Hamilton Group will occur gradually, combining their respective expertise to drive joint growth.

STIMIT specializes in non-invasive diaphragm stimulation for mechanically ventilated intensive care patients. By using targeted magnetic fields, STIMIT’s technology supports faster recovery of unaided breathing while helping to avoid unnecessary intensive care costs. Its flagship product, STIMIT Activator 1, is a temporary phrenic nerve stimulator designed to preserve diaphragm thickness and function. The device has obtained Class II market approval in Canada, becoming STIMIT’s first commercially available product with its initial use in the Canadian market.

The acquisition demonstrates Hamilton Medical’s dedication to patient-centered respiratory care and its move into innovative, non-invasive solutions for critical care.
