Sophia Genetics SA raised $77 million from investors including Generation Investment Management, Idinvest Partners, Balderton Capital and Alychlo.
Sophia Genetics, whose software helps doctors understand complex genetic data, will use the money "grow the global community of hospitals using its technology," the Lausanne, Switzerland and Boston, U.S.-based company said in a press release.
Co-founder and chief executive Jurgi Camblong attended the Venture Challenge Semester entrepreneurship course in 2006, a starting point for his entrepreneurial career. Sophia Genetics was ranked on the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award every year from 2012 to 2016.
