Swiss Venture Capital Report: Initiative for more transparency in the ecosystem

08.12.2021 07:01, Isabelle Mitchell

The 10th edition of the Swiss Venture Capital Report will be published on January 27, 2022. For the first time, it will be published by Startupticker and SECA in collaboration with startup.ch. The partnership with startup.ch aims to provide more clarity on VC investments. Startups can still report financing rounds to one of the partners until December 22, 2021, thus contributing to more transparency.

Startupticker.ch and Startup.ch, operated by Venturelab, have been working together for years. Company profiles from startup.ch are displayed on Startupticker, and news from Startupticker flows into the profiles of Startup.ch. Now the cooperation has been taken a step further. Venturelab and Startupticker are teaming up for the Swiss Venture Capital Report (SVCR). The aim is to make the financing activities even more transparent. Therefore, the two organizations will share non-confidential data and launch a call to report investments that have not yet been published.

Call to report investments
Startups have several options to announce financing rounds for the next Venture Capital Report. They can either update their profile on Startup.ch or inform the Startupticker editorial team by emailing news@startupticker.ch. The Venture Capital Report offers an ideal medium to make startups better known. It also serves as a showcase for the Swiss startup scene and as a basis for decision-making for various stakeholders in the ecosystem, including investors, VC firms, business angels, funding bodies, and government agencies. The more rounds are reflected in the report, the better the publication can fulfill these tasks.

“I am very pleased that we were able to win Venturelab and startup.ch as partners,” said Startupticker.ch editor-in-chief and SVCR co-author Stefan Kyora. “I am sure that together we will be able to further broaden the database and, above all, motivate even more startups to publish information on their financing rounds. With our two existing research partners, Verve Ventures and SICTIC [Swiss ICT Investor Club], and our long-standing co-editor SECA [Swiss Private Equity & Corporate Finance Association], we are ideally positioned on the corporate and investor side to provide a holistic picture of the Swiss funding landscape.”

Jordi Montserrat, Managing Partner Venturelab, commented: “We are very glad about the continuous and strengthened collaboration with Startupticker.ch, SECA, and the partners for the Swiss Venture Capital Report. Startup.ch already shares about swiss funding activity on a daily and monthly summary basis, joining the effort to have a common yearly report goes with our mission to support Swiss Startups in their fundraising and internationalization and better supporting the ecosystem moving forward.”
