"Safety, privacy, and responsible AI development are our core values."
Can you tell us who your product or solution helps, and how?
Syntheticus provides a platform for generating safe synthetic data, which mimics real-world data without containing any personal information. This data can be used for various purposes, such as training AI models, testing software, and developing analytics
applications, without privacy concerns or limitations of real-world data availability.
What market are you addressing and what is the potential of your startup in that market?
Syntheticus targets organizations across various industries that need high-quality data for AI development and analytics, but face issues with data privacy, security, or scarcity. This includes industries like finance, healthcare, insurance, CPG, and retail. The potential market size is estimated to be in billions of dollars as synthetic data adoption grows.
How and where did you come up with the idea for your startup?
In bustling Zurich in 2019, amidst a Machine/Deep Learning bootcamp, the idea for Syntheticus was born out of frustration with privacy concerns and limited real-world data stifling innovation. The final project sparked a solution: a prototype for Syntheticus, envisioning AI model training and analytics without real-world data constraints. This revolutionary potential fueled a mission to democratize access to safe data for AI advancement, evolving Syntheticus from a product to a mission-driven endeavor. Today, that mission remains at the core of Syntheticus's ethos, driving continued innovation.
What do you expect from the Venture Leaders roadshow and how do you think it will help you achieve your vision?
Syntheticus aims to become the leading provider of safe synthetic data and democratize access to data-driven AI for all. The Venture Leaders roadshow is expected to provide valuable exposure, networking opportunities, and potential partnerships to accelerate this vision.
"Listen deeply and unveil hidden challenges!"
What are your team’s key achievements to date?
At Syntheticus, we believe in fostering a culture of brilliance and innovation. A case in point is our team member, a former black hole and string theory researcher from ETH Zürich! His exceptional mind, honed at one of the world's leading institutions, brings valuable scientific expertise and fresh perspectives to our mission. And that's just one example of the amazing talent we've assembled. Beyond our team, we're proud to share some significant achievements:
Groundbreaking Research: We collaborated with ETH Zürich to publish a scientific paper, demonstrating our commitment to rigorous research and contributing to the advancement of knowledge in synthetic data.
Leading the way in standards: As Vice Chair of the IEEE IC Synthetic Data, I actively participate in establishing global standards for privacy-safe synthetic data. This ensures responsible development and adoption of this powerful technology.
Recognized Expertise: The European Commission, a pivotal force in data policy, saw fit to tap Syntheticus as a Subject Matter Expert on synthetic data. This underscores our deep understanding and ability to shape the future of this field.
Real-World impact: Working with Fortune 500 companies further validates the practical value of our solutions. It's incredibly rewarding to see Syntheticus directly impacting and empowering industry leaders.
Is there a key principle or value that guides you as you build your company?
Safety, privacy, and responsible AI development are our core values, emphasizing our commitment to ethical and trustworthy data solutions.
What is the most important lesson you have learned as a founder?
Listen deeply and unveil hidden challenges! I've discovered that truly understanding our customers' demands is more than just
product demos and presentations. We actively engage in deep conversations, listen carefully to their pain points, and go beyond the surface to uncover their unspoken needs. This empathy-driven approach has helped us tailor our solutions to address their
specific challenges, creating lasting value.
What is your favorite productivity hack or tool and why?
When it comes to productivity hacks, I have to admit my bias towards Dripify! As a CEO constantly juggling various responsibilities, managing efficient outreach is crucial. Dripify has been a game-changer in helping me achieve that. It allows me to automate repetitive tasks like sending connection requests, personalized messages, and following up with potential partners on LinkedIn. This frees up my valuable time for more strategic activities, like attending meetings, developing partnerships, and overseeing the company's overall growth.
