The Venture Leaders Biotech 2022 kick-off their roadshow to Boston and Cambridge

22.08.2022 10:00, Tracy Woodley

In September, the ten Venture Leaders Biotech 2022 will represent Switzerland and pitch their solutions in Boston, USA. During their weeklong roadshow, the entrepreneurs will meet with investors, experts, and industry leaders to strengthen their network and advance their global growth. To introduce themselves and their startups, the founders met in Zurich and showcased their innovations at an online pitch session.

During the virtual event on August 18th, the Venture Leaders Biotech 2022 learned more about each other’s innovations, talked about their startup journeys thus far, and pitched their unique biotech solutions. Audience members then voted for the team captain and selected Ana Montalban-Arques, CEO of Recolony, for the title.

The Venture Leaders— as members of the Swiss National Startup Team— have a clear-cut goal: They envision themselves as global players and want to fuel their international expansion. The ten entrepreneurs of this year’s selection had the opportunity to practice their pitches for their promising biotech projects in front of an audience and one another. The Investor and Business Development Roadshow to the Boston area will allow for a deep dive into the global biotech scene. It will include public and private pitch sessions, high-level networking opportunities, company visits, and individual business development activities.

“The Venture Leaders roadshow for biotech startups will highlight the remarkable Swiss innovations taking place in this sector. Our goal is to nurture connections and investment opportunities for these startups so that their ideas and projects can realize their maximum potential,” said Jordi Montserrat, managing partner at Venturelab. “The Venture Leaders Biotech startups 2022 are highly impressive, and I am sure they will leave Boston with additional resources to support their important work.”

Venturelab has been organizing international roadshows for the Swiss National Startup Teams for 17 years. The ambitious entrepreneurs and their promising startups are introduced to top-class investors and potential customers in leading technology hubs such as Silicon Valley, Boston, New York, London, Munich, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Barcelona.

The Venture Leaders Biotech program is co-organized by Venturelab and Swissnex Boston and supported by Debiopharm, EPFL Lausanne, ETH Zurich, EY - Ernst & YoungSwiss Biotech Association, VISCHER, Hansjörg Wyss, and Venture Leaders alum Ulf Grawunder.
