The Venture Leaders Cleantech 2024 kick-off their Munich roadshow

16.09.2024 10:00, Rita Longobardi

In November, the ten Venture Leaders Cleantech 2024 will represent Switzerland and pitch their solutions in Munich, Germany. During their weeklong roadshow, the entrepreneurs will connect with investors, professionals, and key figures within the industry to strengthen their network and advance their global growth. In anticipation of this exciting journey, the founders met in Schlieren to introduce their startups through a pitch session that spotlighted their pioneering innovations.

During the kick-off event held at the Startup Space in Schlieren on September 11th, the ten Venture Leaders Cleantech 2024 had the opportunity to learn about each other's innovative ideas, share insights about their entrepreneurial paths up to that point, and present their Cleantech solutions. Through a voting process, audience members then voted for the team captain and selected Markus Aicheler, Co-Founder and CEO of SolidWatts.

"I believe the doadshow will be a great platform for increasing awareness of what opportunities the energy transition offers concretely in the sector of electrification of industrial process heat. There are still many players out there who need convincing that microwave based systems are the future in every aspect of process quality and unit economics," highlighted Markus.

Swiss Cleantech startups have demonstrated strong resilience, securing crucial investments of almost 160 million CHF across 27 funding rounds in the first half of 2024. This influx of capital reflects their ability to capitalize on declining raw material costs—allowing them to advance their technological solutions and drive innovation in the sector. By leveraging such investments, these startups are overcoming economic challenges and positioning themselves as leaders in sustainable technology development, underscoring Switzerland's growing influence in the global Cleantech industry.

In November, the ten entrepreneurs will take part in a business development and investor roadshow in Munich, which offers them to take the next step in their startups’ international growth.

Venture Leaders Cleantech is organized by Venturelab and supported by DPD, EPFL, ETH Zurich, Helbling Technik, Rentsch Partner, Romande Energie, St.Gallisch-Appenzellische Kraftwerke (SAK), Vaud, and Vischer.
