The road to Boston: The Venture Leaders Medtech 2022 kick-off their international roadshow

03.05.2022 10:23, Tracy Woodley

In June, the ten Venture Leaders Medtech 2022 will represent Switzerland and pitch their solutions in Boston, USA. During their weeklong roadshow, the entrepreneurs will meet with investors, experts, and industry leaders to strengthen their network and advance their global growth. To introduce themselves and their startups, the founders met in Lausanne and showcased their innovations at an online pitch session.

During the virtual event on April 28th, the Venture Leaders Medtech 2022 learned more about each other’s innovations, talked about their startups journeys thus far, and pitched their unique medtech solutions. Audience members then voted for the team captain and selected Claudia Scheckel, CEO of Oncobit, for the honor. "I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone in person and getting started working with all of you," said Claudia.

The Venture Leaders— as members of the Swiss National Startup Team— have a clear-cut goal: They envision themselves as global players and want to fuel their global expansion. The ten entrepreneurs of this year’s selection had the opportunity to practice their pitches for their promising medtech in front of an audience and one another. The Investor and Business Development Roadshow to the Boston area will allow for a deep dive into the global medtech scene and will include public and private pitch sessions, high-level networking opportunities, company visits and individual business development activities.

"During the week-long roadshow, the 10 venture leaders will pitch to key US investors and meet with leaders and experts of the medtech industry. With its focus on quality and precision, the Swiss medtech industry provides highly specialized expertise for global market," said Jordi Montserrat, managing partner at Venturelab.

Venturelab has been organizing international roadshows for the Swiss National Startup Teams for 17 years. The ambitious entrepreneurs and their promising startups are introduced to top-class investors and potential customers in leading technology hubs such as Silicon Valley, Boston, New York, London, Munich, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, and Barcelona.

The Venture Leaders Medtech program is organized by Venturelab and supported by EPF Lausanne, ETH Zurich, Hansjörg Wyss, Helbling Technik, Kellerhals Carrard, Paul Scherrer Institut, Swissnex Boston, Canton of Vaud, Canton of Zurich, and Venture Leader alumnus Dominik Lysek
