USD 200M in Series D Funding for the digital health leader Oviva

22.01.2026 15:27, Rita Longobardi

Oviva, a European digital health company focused on weight-related and chronic conditions, has raised USD 200 million in a Series D funding round led by Kinnevik. The new capital will help the company expand its reach and further develop its AI-powered care platform.

More than 200 million adults in Europe live with obesity and related chronic conditions, placing a growing strain on healthcare systems already facing clinician shortages and limited access to in-person care. The ICT company Oviva, founded by Kai Eberhardt and Manuel Baumann, ranked among the Top100 Scale-ups and a Venture Leaders participant, addresses this challenge with evidence-based, scalable digital programs integrated into national reimbursement frameworks and physician workflows.

Oviva’s platform connects patients with multidisciplinary care teams and uses AI to personalize support, allowing clinicians to focus on patient impact while reaching more individuals. Programs are free for patients in its core markets: Germany, the UK, and Switzerland, thanks to full reimbursement coverage.

To date, Oviva has supported over one million patients, tripled new patient intake over the past two years, and achieved cash-flow profitability in 2025, highlighting the scalability of its business model. Its programs’ effectiveness is validated by more than 90 peer-reviewed studies.

Kinnevik led the USD 200 million Series D round with a USD 100 million investment, becoming Oviva’s largest shareholder. Existing investors, including Temasek and Sofina, were joined by Planet First Partners, A.P. Moller Holding, Lunate, EGS Beteiligungen AG, and Norrsken VC. The funding will support Oviva’s expansion into new markets, additional chronic conditions such as hypertension and type 2 diabetes, and further enhancement of its AI-driven platform.
