Venture Leaders Technology Pitch at ETH Zurich in Launch of Silicon Valley Roadshow

06.03.2020 15:50, Guillaume Tinsel

Venturelab welcomed the next generation of tech entrepreneurs to ETH Zurich last Wednesday, at the exciting launch event for the team of entrepreneurs about to depart for the Venture Leaders roadshow in Silicon Valley. The Startup Champions event highlighted the 10 Venture Leaders Technology startups that should be on your watch list along with prestigious keynote speaker Dennis Just, CEO at Smallpdf who shared his best practices.

The 10 ambitious entrepreneurs, selected by a jury from more than 140 applicants, met for the first time as a team during the afternoon's kick-off briefing ahead of the intensity of startup roadshow in San Francisco and the Silicon Valley.

After opening words of Thomas Dysli, VP of ETH Entrepreneur Club and Stefan Steiner, Co-Managing Director of Venturelab, about the dynamism of the Swiss start-up ecosystem, keynote speech by Dennis Just, CEO at Smallpdf inspired the audience. The serial entrepreneur founded Numbrs, the largest mobile banking company in Germany, and Knip, a mobile insurance company serving millions of customers. After making Forbes' 30 under 30 list, he joined Smallpdf as CEO in 2019. In his talk, he condensed 10 years of entrepreneurship into 9 actionable pieces of advice. The 10 winners of this year's Venture Leaders Technology then pitched their ideas. They will roadshow in Silicon Valley as the Swiss National Startup Team. To select the group's captain, each of the Venture Leaders presented their startups' in lightning, two-minutes pitches to the supporters crowding the ETH.
The public crowd selected the winner Reinout Oussoren from Skypull who will be the captain of the team during their roadshow from March 30th to April 3rd. Follow their journey using the hashtag #vleaderstech

The Swiss National Startup Team's roadshow to Silicon Valley is organized by Venturelab in cooperation with our partners Rothschild & Co Bank, Kellerhals Carrard, DPD, Swisscom, Canton de Vaud, EPF Lausanne and ETH Zurich.
