Vir2sense provides a platform with ready to use, optimized fast combustion and emission (NOx, soot) models for internal combustion engines (Diesel, Dual Fuel). The physically assisted virtual NOx sensor (PVS) uses the Vir2sense platform to provide reliable values of NOx in real time without maintenance, even in harsh environments. PVS, applied in a ship, helps the operator to find the best available trade-off between fuel consumption and NOx emissions and can simultaneously be used for SCR feedforward control. PVS saves money and protects the environment.
