Take a startup deep dive an join us for lunch! The Venture Briefing event series is designed to help students with an intent to pursue entrepreneurship take their first steps towards building a successful company.
The event features a keynote speech from successful entrepreneurs Stephan Steiner and Andreas Kuster of A-Metal.
About: Stephan is the Executive Lead of A-Metal. Prior to founding his own company, he worked in research and development at inspire AG, SINTRATEC, EnvisionTEC, MAN Diesel & Turbo, and at ETH Zurich. Thanks to his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from ETH (focusing on manufacturing technologies), Stephan possesses extensive expertise in mechanics, process engineering, optics, and materials science.
Andreas is the Technology Lead of A-Metal. Prior to starting his own startup, he worked at Sintratec, libs Industrielle Berufslehren Schweiz, and ABB. He holds a Bachelor in electrical and information engineering from FHNW and also graduated from ABB Technikerschule in System Engineering.
About: Metal 3D printing is increasingly transforming manufacturing, enabling companies to produce complex, high-strength components on demand. However, existing systems are often large, costly, and difficult to operate, limiting accessibility for smaller businesses and individual creators. a-metal aims to change that. The startup’s compact and user-friendly metal 3D printing system is designed to make the technology accessible without compromising performance. The FHNW and ETH spin-off just raised a CHF 2.1 million seed round, led by QBIT Capital and supported by Zürcher Kantonalbank, Swissortholab, Kickfund, CADFEM, and experienced angel investors. A-Metal has also been the winner of many and awards and grants, including FHNW Swiss Startup Challenge, Venture Kick, BRIDGE, ESA BIC, Swiss Innovation Challenge, and ESA BIC Switzerland.
Stephan and Andreas will talk about their startup and share details about his journey building a successful company. They will also help answer some of your questions during the Q&A session:
How to become an entrepreneur?
How to validate my idea?
How to fund my idea?
How to find help to bring my idea to life?
