The Venture Briefing event series is designed to help students with an intent to pursue entrepreneurship take their first steps towards building a successful company.
The event features a keynote speech from successful entrepreneur Moritz Hessel, Founder & CEO of MH Total Return.
Moritz studied business administration and insurance at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, and started his career in insurance before advancing into portfolio management. For several years he worked with former hedgefund manager Florian Homm, publishing the well-known 'Homm Long & Short Börsenbrief' and two books on investment became best-selling in the DACH market. In 2020, Moritz launched his own company Total Return Capital Management AG in Zug. Partnering with one of the world's leading brokerage firms Interactive Brokers from Greenwich, USA, Moritz' company launched an app-based solution that pioneers total return investmenting (buying long + short-selling) for retail investors - with the mission to "make total return investing as easy as buying on Amazon or watching Netflix".
Moritz will talk about his startup and share details about his journey building a successful company in investment and fintech. He will also help answer some of your questions during the Q&A session:
How to become an entrepreneur?
How to validate my idea?
How to fund my idea?
How to find help to bring my idea to life?
You will also be introduced to different support programs available to new entrepreneurs:
Venture Kick: up to CHF 150,000 pre-seed capital for business development
InnoBooster: up to CHF 150,000 grant to accelerate market entry
First Ventures: up to CHF 150,000 financial support and tailored coaching program for University of Applied Science students
