Featuring a Keynote from Swiss-Indian entrepreneur Arunima Sengupta of Alexis Technologies
 

Arunima Sengupta is the Managing Director at Alexis Technologies, leading the development of in vitro inhalation platforms designed to address critical challenges in toxicology, consumer or cosmetic product safety, and environmental research. She holds a Ph.D. in Lung Medical Research from Helmholtz Zentrum in Munich, and a Master's in Cell and Cancer Biology from LMU Munich. Arunima has an extensive background in biomedical engineering, having contributed to research on lung-on-chip systems during her postdoctoral work at the Artificial Organs Center, in Bern, Switzerland. She actively collaborates with organizations like PETA, US and the Korean FDA and Animal Free Research UK to promote ethical, human-relevant research models and participates in outreach initiatives to support the broader adoption of alternative in vitro testing platforms.
