The strong winds at higher altitudes, in remote places or off-shore in deep water cannot be economically harnessed with wind turbines. An enormous resource of renewable energy is so far untapped. TwingTec has developed the energy drone. The energy drone flies like a kite driven by the wind in a cyclic pattern while the tether forces are converted into electricity in a ground based generator.
