The Life Sciences Venture Leader and Venture Kick winner has completed its first financing, led by private investors, family and Venture Kick. The startup, which develops biosensors, will use the funds for further product development.

The Zurich-based company produces skin-friendly, stretchable and highly conductive electrodes for wearable devices. Their revolutionary electrodes, composed of silicon-based materials with conductive particles (silver and silicon-elastomer), provide clinical-grade signal quality without the use of gel. Inspired by nature, the design features a surface that mimics the structure of grasshopper’s feet to allow for glue-free adhesion, lowering motion artefacts and recording more accurate data.

In March 2018, IDUN Technologies won the Venture Kick finale and brought home CHF 130,000. Following this victory, the startup continued its financing round with other private investors, including Swiss Startup Group. The newly acquired funds will help finalize the production process of the electrodes and bring them to market.
After participating this spring in Venture Leaders Life Sciences Boston and Venture Leaders in South Africa, the startup is now focusing on developing partnerships and completing feasibility studies for the use of its electrodes in muscle monitoring, brain monitoring and cardiac monitoring.
