"A great idea is nothing
without a lot of work,
patience, and resilience."
Can you tell us who your product or solution helps, and how?
We’ve built a cutting-edge system that blends Artificial Intelligence, data, and advanced technologies to automate sales and claim management in the travel insurance sector. We turn what was once a slow, costly, and frustrating claims process into a new, exceptional experience for each insured traveler.
What market are you addressing and what is the potential of your startup in that market?
We operate as a Managing General Agents (MGAs) in Europe through our Irish branch,
Insurteam MGA Ltd. By integrating directly into global travel distribution platforms, we deliver personalized insurance products that maximize the power of our technology—creating meaningful value for every traveler, as well as for our distribution partners.
How and where did you come up with the idea for your startup?
Born from a project of system integration between a major cruising line and a leading insurance company, Insurteam became a company in April 2024 and registered immediate success. In just eight months of operations that year, we achieved a turnover of CHF 250,000. In the first half of 2025, this figure has doubled, already in the first semester. Forecasts for 2025 confidently exceed EUR1 million in revenue, with projections for 2026 surpassing EUR3 million.
What do you expect from the Venture Leaders roadshow, and how do you think it will help you achieve your vision?
We are preparing our next funding round, targeted for closure in the first half of 2026. Our goal is to partner with professional investors who can contribute not only capital, but also strategic knowledge and sector expertise to support our growth.
What are your team’s key achievements to date?
In just 18 months, we grew from 2 to 6 employees, served thousands of travelers, secured over EUR800,000 in funding, and built a strong, growing stream of recurring revenues.
Is there a key principle or value that guides you as you build your company?
My team and I work following a group of principles that are especially adapted to high growth environments. These principles are: embrace ambiguity, fill the empty spots, fail fast (and learn from it), better done than perfect and deliver on commitment.
What is the most important lesson you have learned as a founder?
A great idea is nothing without a lot of work, patience, and resilience.
What is your favorite productivity hack or tool and why?
At Insurteam, we’ve embedded AI into every aspect of our daily operations—from customer engagement to claims management and internal workflows. This allows us to run our business with only six full-time employees while achieving the speed, precision, and efficiency of much larger organizations.
What was your dream job when you were a child?
As a child in the ’80s, I dreamed of becoming a civil engineer because I loved building with Legos. Today, I still enjoy creating with Legos, but I’m grateful I chose to study business—because it gave me the tools to build something even greater: companies, strategies, and opportunities that last.
