Venture Leader Fintech Mathieu Saint-Cyr co-founded Wecan Tokenize, a startup that provides a fully integrated tokenization platform to issue, distribute, custody, and exchange digital assets through core banking systems, APIs, and marketplaces. The Venture Leaders Fintech 2020 will accelerate their international expansion and build a business network through meetings with top-notch investors and industry leaders. From November 2 to 6, the Swiss National Startup team represented Switzerland's innovative fintech force at the first-ever virtual edition of the Hong Kong Fintech Week 2020. To introduce you to the members of the Swiss National Startup Team, we asked each entrepreneur to complete a short profile and choose four questions from a questionnaire about their personal and professional life.

How and where did you come up with the idea for your startup?
In the near future, every asset will be tokenized and connected through a blockchain. We aim to propose a fully integrated process to issue, distribute, custody, and exchange digital assets through core banking systems. We believe that tokenization will improve processes and lower associated costs, transform user experiences, and bring much-needed liquidity to large asset classes like real estate.
 
What do you expect from the Venture Leaders program, and how will it help you achieve your vision?
The Venture Leaders program will give our company international visibility and increase our network. We aim to create an ecosystem to market our solution and educate people on the new digital assets world. The Venture Leaders program will also allow us to explain our business model, strategy, and unique end-to-end solution. At its core, blockchain technology is decentralized and without borders; this initiative will help us achieve more of the value proposition internationally.
 
How and where do you clear your mind?
I like to get up early and go to the gym before my day starts. It helps me focus my priorities for the day and gives me a lot of energy to tackle the challenges that we face every day as entrepreneurs.

What is the most rewarding aspect of being a founder?
To me, entrepreneurship is a team endeavor. It is such a great feeling to see an idea or a vision that you initially only share with a small group of talented people gain momentum and become a project that improves our users’ experience and becomes their go-to avenue for accessing the market.

What is always in your fridge?
Freshly pressed watermelon juice. You cannot find a better drink! Over the winter period, we buy it ready-made from supermarkets—still awesome.
 
What are you most proud of?
My family. As an entrepreneur, you are dedicating most of your day to your company. I am blessed with a wonderful family that supports me and helps me gain perspective when challenges arise but also always inspires me to work on the next project.
