Meet flovtec CEO Anton Golub and find out what this early bird gets done while we are (probably) still asleep

Venture Leader Fintech Anton Golub co-founded flovtec, a startup that enables the exchange of digital assets at low costs and in a secure way, opening the door to a truly digital future of finance that is enabled by the blockchain. The Venture Leaders Fintech 2020 will accelerate their international expansion and build a business network through meetings with top-notch investors and industry leaders. From November 2 to 6, the Swiss National Startup team represented Switzerland's innovative fintech force at the first-ever virtual edition of the Hong Kong Fintech Week 2020. To introduce you to the members of the Swiss National Startup Team, we asked each entrepreneur to complete a short profile and choose four questions from a questionnaire about their personal and professional life.

How and where did you come up with the idea for your startup?
I co-founded one of the first Swiss blockchain companies—Lykke Corp—where we built a blockchain-powered exchange to trade digital assets and issued one of the world’s first security tokens (our own digital shares) that was tradable on our exchange. There, I learned first-hand that the vision of tokenization of assets requires liquidity for its success, and I could not find a trusted and compliant partner that would help me address this liquidity need. I founded flovtec to bring liquidity to digital assets and enable the growth of our ecosystem!

What do you expect from the Venture Leaders program, and how will it help you achieve your vision? 
Liquidity is the missing piece of the digital asset ecosystem, and market-making solutions are in the spotlight of our industry. Entering the Asian market is of strategic importance for flovtec’s growth, and it is essential for us to find a partner that shares the same vision for the future of digital assets and sees liquidity as a key building block of our ecosystem. The Venture Leaders program enables us to get exposure both to investors and potential clients in Hong Kong. And as our industry grows, it is also helping us build our global network that will create near-infinite possibilities for flovtec.

What is your favorite productivity hack?
Waking up early in the morning, taking a cold shower, and doing a short and intense workout boosts my energy and gets me ready for a day full of opportunities and challenges!

How and where do you clear your mind?
I clear my mind and relax by meditating at home, in the evening before I go to sleep. I find meditation absolutely essential for my physical and mental well-being, and I practice it on a daily basis.

What is the most rewarding aspect of being a founder?
I love working with intelligent, driven, and kind people that share the same passion and values as I do. I admire the commitment and courage of my team to build technology that will change the world and make it a better place for everyone. Finally, we are having loads of fun together as a team, sharing experiences and moments that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

What is your favorite movie?
My favorite movie is Four Rooms, perhaps the least-known piece by Quentin Tarantino. The movie is absolutely hilarious and features some of the biggest stars of the 90s, including Tim Roth, Antonio Banderas, Madonna, Marissa Tomei, Bruce Willis, and Salma Hayek. I am still puzzled about how they managed to get all those stars together for this crazy movie!

What is always in your fridge?
Lemons! Each morning, I squeeze fresh lemon juice into a glass of cold water and enjoy a refreshing and healthy drink at the start of the day.
