Swiss National Fintech Team 2020: Virtual demo day with 170 international investors and Fintech experts
Over 170 registered Fintech experts and multi-billion-dollar investors joined the virtual demo day of this year’s Venture Leaders Fintech program that took place last Tuesday, October 27th in cooperation with swissnex China. Next week the fourth edition of the Venture Leaders Fintech will participate in the virtual edition of the Hong Kong Fintech Week, the world’s first cross-border Fintech conference!
Switzerland is well known for the quality and the strength of the financial services and the banking industry. The growth began in the 19th century building and maintaining railroads. Today it contributes around 10% to GDP and there are 248 banks in Switzerland. At the same time Switzerland is the world’s most innovative nation with remarkable breakthroughs in science and technology. The Swiss fintech industry combines these two assets.“It comes as no surprise that through digitalization and fundamentally rethinking the industry’s current approach, Switzerland’s fintech sector is flourishing. Startups introduce leading edge solutions that range from banking services, to alternative investing, to blockchain applications. The Swiss National Fintech Team 2020 puts Switzerland again at the pole position with their innovative solutions, which they aim to expand internationally”, says Stefan Steiner, Co-Managing Director at Venturelab.
Next week, our 10 Venture Leaders Fintech startups will pitch at the Hong Kong FinTech Week to further showcase their solutions to over 25’000 virtual attendees and establish their international presence and expansion! They will be among the first to explore the opportunities to scale in China’s Silicon Valley - Greater Bay Area region with over $1.67 trillion GDP. The Swiss fintech startups will meet the leaders of China’s internet finance including Ant Financial that is the highest valued fintech company in the world operating the largest mobile and online payments platform, Alipay.
