Venture Leaders Medtech Roadshow 2025: Swiss Medtech startups shine in Boston

The Venture Leaders — the Swiss National Startup Team members — have a clear objective: They envision themselves as global players and aim for international expansion. The Venture Leaders Medtech roadshow 2025 brought 10 handpicked Swiss entrepreneurs to Boston, one of the world’s largest life science hubs. The Swiss National Startup Team members benefited from market exposure, pitch sessions with investors and experts, and hands-on business development. The roadshow is organized by Venturelab and supported by EPFL, ETH Zürich, Hansjörg Wyss, Helbling Technik, Health Innovation Hub Aargau, Kellerhals Carrard, Canton de Vaud, and Vischer.

Venturelab has been organizing international investor and business development roadshows for the Swiss National Startup Teams since 2006. Ambitious entrepreneurs and their promising startups are introduced to high-caliber investors and potential customers in leading technology hubs such as Silicon Valley, Boston, Asia, Barcelona, Munich, and London.

The Venture Leaders Medtech roadshow offers a one-week deep dive into the Boston healthcare ecosystem, pitching to US investors, expert workshops, industry and market insights, and peer-to-peer exchanges with entrepreneurs. One of the world’s largest life science hubs, home to leading US medical centers and universities, including the globally renowned Harvard and MIT. Venture Leaders Medtech alumni include high-performing startups such Credentis (acquired by vVardi, KB Medical (acquired by Globus Medical), Lunaphore Technologies (acquired by Bio-Techne), STIMIT (acquired by Dräger), Abionic, Aleva Neurotherapeutics, Volumina Medical, Cutiss, Distalmotion,  MindMaze, Virtamed, ZuriMed Technologies, and many more.



Swiss medtech startups impress Boston investors and healthcare experts 
The 10 members of the Swiss National Startup Team, selected from 75 applications, not only build a strong network in the United States but are also part of a team of entrepreneurs who share the same objectives and challenges. The startups presented an exceptional lineup addressing global healthcare challenges across diverse areas, including cardiac monitoring, neonatal nutrition, neurosurgery, epilepsy detection, gastrointestinal care, home health monitoring, orthodontics, bone reinforcement, smart medical devices, and AI-assisted imaging.

The week-long roadshow in Boston featured investor pitch and feedback sessions facilitated by Arnold & Porter with investors such as MedScience Ventures, Johnson & Johnson Innovation, RA Capital, Graybella Capital, Glassel Ventures, Crane Venture Partners, and Assabys Partners.

Furthermore, the selected founders expanded their business expertise in regulatory, IP, and legal aspects of setting up US-based operations, scaling their teams, and strengthening business development and US market strategies through expert workshop sessions with Kellerhals Carrard, Vischer, and Arnold & Porter. The program included business development sessions with the Mayo Clinic (ranked as the number 1 hospital in the US), Helbling Technik, and dedicated sessions with entrepreneurs from Biognosys and Portal Instruments. The Venture Leaders Medtech also participated in the MEDevice conference, which provided opportunities for business development and networking through an international startup pitch competition featuring US, Korean, and Swiss startups.

The Swiss National Medtech Team was also invited to a business reception hosted by Swiss Consul Philippe Roesle and Swissnex in Boston, where they had the opportunity to network with local business contacts.
