Webinar about Swiss labour law in times of coronavirus

24.03.2020 13:24, Guillaume Tinsel

The spread of the coronavirus has drastic consequences for the Swiss economy. On 16 March 2020, the Federal Council classified the situation in Switzerland as an "extraordinary situation" in accordance with the Federal Act on Epidemics and ordered that all shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment and leisure facilities be closed until 19 April 2020. For many employers, these measures will result in considerable profit losses. In addition, countless businesses will no longer be able to (fully) employ their staff.

It's truly crazy to see how the coronavirus has changed how we do business. Last Friday we did the first-ever online webinar about labour law in times of coronavirus. Stefan Steiner, co-managing director of Venturelab welcomed 127 Swiss startup founders in the webinar and answered together with the experts Karin Friedli and Larissa Simeon from Kellerhals Carrard questions from the Swiss startup community. Most of the 103 questions were about short term work applications and measurements but also about what should be considered during home-office or if employees are still allowed to travel for business?

Did you miss the webinar? Conduct the factsheet "short-time work due to the coronavirus crisis" from Kellerhals Carrard. You will find 21 questions and the corresponding answers on how to implementing short-time work and correctly calculating short-time work compensation.

Do you have further questions on how to run your startup during the coronavirus? We will organize more webinars and collect interesting resources. Subscribe to our weekly Venturelab newsletter to stay up to date.
