Repairing damaged articular cartilage is still an unmet medical need. Cartilage damage causes pain and disability and affects people with repetitive trauma, elderly and overweight people. There is no solution to regenerate the hyaline quality of the articular cartilage. If left untreated, the cartilage damage can progress to osteoarthritis.
We propose a new generation of cell therapy product, allogeneic Cartibeads, which are cartilage microtissues, made from donor cells. Cartibeads are the first true tissue-engineered hyaline cartilage ressembling native tissue dedicated to regenerate cartilage damage

The company plans to be on the market within 6 years and to develop its own facilities in the future for large-scale, low-cost production of Cartibeads thanks to automation/robotization.
