AIT India supported 20 Swiss and Indian startups' market validation with CHF 50,000

10.02.2020 16:42, Nicolas Briner

The Swiss-Indian Academia-Industry Training Camp closed last week after one week of company visits and workshops. The 20 early-stage startups further developed relations between India and Switzerland.

Twenty entrepreneurs coming from various research fields completed an intense week of business development workshops and networking in the Swiss ecosystem, with a pitching competition sharing over CHF 45,000 of development grants in cash, supported by the Swiss and Indian governments. Winners Emertech Innovations, Cureous Labs, REA and Adiposs persuaded the juries and received an extra boost to continue scaling their innovations.

The Swiss-Indian Academia-Industry Training Camp, which aims to help scientists from Switzerland and India transform their advanced research into market-ready products and services, sees ten startups from India and ten from Switzerland exchange during a week of training and networking in each country. The Swiss week focused on business development courses and two public pitching events at the Gotham coworking space in Lausanne and the ZHAW in Zurich. Furthermore, the 20 startups enjoyed sessions with experts in their field and various startup visits.

In order to support these promising entrepreneurs from Switzerland and India, the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) has mandated the ZHAW Zurich University of Applied Sciences to execute the AIT program. Venturelab, SINE and swissnex India are key program partners. They organize and facilitate a full day preparation kick-off event in Switzerland, a week in India followed by a week in Switzerland including workshops, industry visits and business meetings.

Congratulations to the four winners: Winners Emertech Innovations, Cureous Labs, REA and Adiposs
