DPhi Space raises CHF 2.1M to expand access to space

21.02.2025 10:40, Rita Longobardi

Swiss engineering startup DPhi Space has secured a CHF 2.1 million Pre-Seed Funding Round to advance its shared satellite platform for hosted payloads. The EPFL spin-off aims to simplify and reduce the cost of access to space, with the new investment supporting the launch of its first Clustergate platform into orbit and the further development of its services.

DPhi Space has secured CHF 2.1 million in pre-seed funding, led by QBIT Capital with contributions from Zurich Cantonal Bank, Apprecia Capital, Kickfund, and other investors. This investment supports launching its first Clustergate platform and expanding its services to simplify and lower the cost of space access.

Clustergate, DPhi Space's first product, is designed to accommodate multiple hosted payloads in a standardized container. The platform integrates in-house-developed computing and software, allowing seamless hosting on any spacecraft while enabling in-orbit computing, AI processing, and real-time data analytics at the edge.

This innovation eliminates the need for dedicated satellite missions, reducing costs while providing plug-and-play integration that does not require prior space expertise. Its flexible infrastructure supports both hardware and software payloads, making it an adaptable solution for a range of applications. By introducing a data center in orbit, DPhi Space brings cloud-like computing capabilities to space, enabling more efficient data processing and decision-making directly in orbit.

“Venture Kick is a must-do experience for every early-stage startup. Progressing from one stage to the next, “kicked” the team to deliver on all aspects of the business and launched us into space,” highlighted Co-Founder and CEO Aziz Belkhiria.

DPhi Space was ranked among the TOP 100 Swiss Startups, won Venture Kick, and participated in ESA BIC Switzerland.
