"We believe in constant innovation and customer-centricity, always listening to the market to improve our product."
Can you tell us who your product or solution helps, and how?
We help small and medium-sized businesses understand their finances and make data-driven decisions. Our cloud-based platform serves as a smart CoPilot for CFOs, offering a 360-degree financial view by integrating with existing banking, invoicing, and accounting systems. This enables businesses to manage liquidity, plan scenarios, and generate analytics dashboards, thereby empowering them to navigate complex financial landscapes effortlessly.
What market are you addressing and what is the potential of your startup in that market?
By automating the CFO suite and enabling deep insights from real-time data, finance is said to become the biggest driver of business value this decade. Not surprisingly, planning, reporting and digital transformation are top priorities for CFOs according to Gartner. With
Tresio, we are in the space of Financial Planning & Analytics Software, a space that is currently growing at 16.6% every year and is estimated to reach USD 17 billion by 2031.
How and where did you come up with the idea for your startup?
I am looking back to many years in the finance industry, first in international corporate banking and then also for a lending Fintech in Zurich. It became evident at that time that there were plenty of great accounting tools that help CFOs and entrepreneurs get their legally required documents, but in most companies, they had nobody with a deeper understanding of these numbers who could take meaningful conclusions out of this data. I saw many businesses not reaching their full potential or even failing because of exactly this reason and was eventually looking to build the technology to get these entrepreneurs a hand.
What do you expect from the Venture Leaders Fintech roadshow, and how will it help you achieve your vision?
We expect to strengthen our network with European investors and gain visibility among potential partners in the finance ecosystem. The roadshow will provide us with valuable market validation and insights, helping us refine our product and strategy as we aim to become the AI-driven financial co-pilot for SMEs.
"Learning from every experience has proven to be the key ingredient for success."
What are your team’s key achievements to date?
We managed to build a product that solves a real problem and that our customers love – 70% of our users log in multiple times per month. This would not have been possible without constantly listening to the market and improving the product every day a bit.
Is there a key principle or value that guides you as you build your company?
Our guiding principle is to empower SMEs. We believe in constant innovation and are obsessed with customer-centricity, always listening to the market to improve our product.
What is the most important lesson you have learned as a founder?
The most crucial lesson I've learned as a founder is the undeniable power of persistence. In the face of challenges and setbacks, the constant commitment to pushing forward, adapting, and learning from every experience has proven to be the key ingredient for success.
What is your favourite productivity hack/tool and why?
I don't have a favourite productivity hack, but spending 5-15 minutes each morning setting clear priorities helps me stay focused and organized, tackling the most important tasks first and maintaining direction throughout the day.
What was your dream job when you were a child?
I always wanted to become a commercial airline pilot – and then the Swissair grounding happened, so I decided to become a banker was the safer career choice.
Do you recommend a podcast you want to share with us?
To all German speakers, I can highly recommend the ARRtist podcast – two times a week, they have amazing guests who provide hands-on insights on how they are building their businesses.
